Smaller Than Microblogging

Ironically, through Twitter, I found out about a Swedish service that has taken microblogging to a new level. According to this article, there is a new social networking tool called Nanoblogg.se. I'll have to take the article's word for it, because the Nanoblogg site is in Swedish, but it basically functions like Twitter except posts are limited to one word (I can't tell how many characters). Is this really needed? Couldn't nanoblogging work within the microblog format? One could simply be a minimalist microblogger. I might try it! I suppose there is something to be said about the software imposing a limit for those weak of self-control, but how informative can a word really be? I would find out, but I don't speak Swedish.
